VFS Global

Also called: VFS, VFS centre

VFS Global is the company that runs the visa and consular application centres where Indian applications from the UK are submitted on behalf of the High Commission of India. At the centre, applicants hand in their documents, give biometrics where required and pay the government and VFS service fees. VFS does not decide applications; the Indian authorities do.

Who needs it

Anyone in the UK applying for a Fresh OCI, an Indian passport renewal, a passport surrender, an Indian PCC or a paper visa usually attends a VFS appointment. The right centre depends on your postcode and the consular jurisdiction that covers it: London, Birmingham or Edinburgh. Booking in the wrong jurisdiction is a common mistake. UK centres for Indian services include Hounslow for the London area, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh.

What Matrix Solutions does

We are not part of VFS: we prepare your file and help you book the right UK centre for your service and postcode, so you attend once with a complete file.
