Indian Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) — UK applications

A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) issued by the Indian authorities is often required for foreign visa applications, permanent residency, employment, and adoption. Matrix Solutions prepares the PCC application, formats the supporting documents, and books your VFS appointment.

  • Flat £100 service fee
  • Required for many visa and PR applications
  • Free rework if rejected on our error

Who needs an Indian PCC

  • Visa applicants

Many countries require an Indian PCC when an applicant has lived in or held an Indian passport. Common examples include Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the USA.

  • Permanent residency or migration

Permanent residence applications routinely ask for PCCs from each country of significant residence. Indian PCC is typically required if you held an Indian passport.

  • Employment and clearance

Some employers require Indian PCC as part of background checks, especially in regulated sectors.

  • Adoption and family applications

PCC may be required by adoption agencies and immigration authorities when adopting a child or family reunification.

Common questions

Is PCC processed in the UK or do I need to go to India?

For most cases the Indian PCC is processed via the Indian mission in the UK through VFS Global. We confirm the route based on your circumstances.

How long does PCC take?

Processing times vary. Simple cases can be quicker; cases involving long-standing addresses in India may take longer due to police verification. We share expected times when you book.

Can a PCC be expedited?

Some PCC categories have faster routes. We confirm your eligibility and any Tatkal-style options on WhatsApp.

Will police verification in India be required?

Sometimes — particularly for applicants who have lived in India in the recent past. We confirm whether your case requires this and what to expect.

What is your fee?

Our service fee is shared on WhatsApp after the free case check. VFS and Indian government fees are paid separately.
