VFS & Government Fees for Indian Services in the UK (2026)
These are the amounts VFS Global collects on the day of submission — the Indian government fee, the Indian Community Welfare Fund contribution, and the visa centre’s own service fee. They are separate from the Matrix Solutions service fee shown on each service page, and you pay them at the appointment rather than to us. The exact total is confirmed by VFS Global on the day.
One quirk worth knowing: the welfare-fund line is £3 on OCI cases (shown as ICWF) and £2 on passport, surrender, PCC and birth registration cases (shown as ICW). Both are already included in the totals below.

Covers any OCI update more than 90 days after the new passport's issue date — including a simple passport-number change and a lost or damaged card where the OCI is not yet linked to your current passport (if it is already linked, the £50 e-OCI replaces the card instead) — handled through our OCI Passport Details Update service. Past 90 days: online for a passport or address change from any UK mission; a visa centre appointment for a name or other particulars change. Within 90 days of a new passport, OCI updates are completed online, with nothing payable at a visa centre.
The late-update penalty is waived for updates received by 31 December 2026, so VFS collects nothing for this update.

These VFS / government fees are indicative, and the delivery envelope is already included in them — your document is returned to your address at no extra charge. Your final amount may be higher if VFS charges for optional extras on the day, such as photocopying, document printing, a photo, or SMS updates. The exact total is confirmed by VFS Global at submission. These figures are illustrative and based on the current VFS schedule (including applicable taxes). Current fees apply on the day of submission and are paid directly to VFS Global — separately from the Matrix service fee.
Services with no visa centre fee
Some cases do not go through a visa application centre at all. These routes are completed online or through a different authority, so no VFS fee applies.
- OCI Link within 90 days
Completed online when the new passport was issued within the last 90 days — no visa centre visit and nothing payable there.
- OCI through spouse
Submitted at the High Commission by invitation, not at a visa centre. The £218 government fee (£215 OCI card fee + £3 ICWF) is paid to the High Commission, with no visa centre fee.
- Indian e-Visa
Applied for online. Our e-Visa prices are all-inclusive where stated, so there is no separate visa centre fee.
- NRI PAN card
Handled through the Indian income-tax portal, not a visa centre.
- UK passport renewal
A His Majesty's Passport Office service — Indian government and visa centre fees do not apply.
