When an e-OCI helps

Travelling light or as a backup

An official digital copy of your OCI on your phone — useful at airline check-in, immigration check posts, and transit checks alongside your passport.

Card lost, damaged, or left at home

An official digital copy you can present in the meantime. A lost or damaged card is normally replaced through the OCI Miscellaneous route — the e-OCI does not replace that, but it helps while you arrange it.

Generating the e-OCI needs a working OCI portal login — often registered years ago, with the email or password long forgotten. We recover or register the account and do it for you.

How it works

  1. Order and share your OCI details — your OCI number, current passport details, and the email used for your original OCI application.
  2. Account access — without storing your password. We recover or register your OCI portal account, preferably through your own email (you simply forward the one-time code). Your login details are used once to generate your e-OCI and are never stored.
  3. Generate on the official portal — your e-OCI is generated on the Government of India's OCI system from your existing OCI record.
  4. Verification check — name, OCI number, passport link, and QR code, all checked before anything is sent.

What is an e-OCI card?
An official digital version of your OCI card issued through the Government of India's OCI portal. It can be saved on your phone, presented at immigration check posts and to airlines, and carries a QR code for verification.
Is my physical OCI card still valid?
Yes. Your existing physical OCI card remains valid — the e-OCI is an additional digital copy, not a replacement for the card itself.
Who can get an e-OCI?
Existing OCI holders whose OCI is valid and linked with their current passport. If yours is not yet linked, we complete the OCI linking first and then generate the e-OCI.
How long does it take?

Can I get the e-OCI if my passport is not linked to my OCI?

I'm applying for Fresh OCI or OCI Renewal — when can I get my e-OCI?
Once your VFS file has been submitted and your OCI shows as processed on the official system. Add the £25 e-OCI add-on to your order and we generate it as soon as your record is ready.
My OCI card is lost or damaged — does the e-OCI replace it?
No. A lost or damaged card is normally replaced through the OCI Miscellaneous route. The e-OCI is an official digital copy you can present in the meantime — many clients order both together.

Will airlines and immigration accept the e-OCI?
The Bureau of Immigration advises that the digital version can be presented at immigration check posts and to airlines. Individual carriers and officers may still run their own checks, so we recommend carrying your passport and, where possible, your physical card as well.
