e-OCI card

Also called: digital OCI, e-OCI

An e-OCI card is the official digital copy of an OCI card, issued as a PDF for your phone and verified by a QR code. It shows your OCI details together with the passport your OCI is linked to. Following Bureau of Immigration advice, the e-OCI can be presented at immigration check posts and to airlines; carrying your passport, and your physical card where possible, is still sensible.

Who needs it

Any OCI holder whose OCI record is linked to their current passport can have an e-OCI generated. It is useful after a passport change, when the physical booklet still shows an old passport number, or when the booklet is not to hand. It can only be produced once the record is processed or linked on the official system. The e-OCI is also included with the OCI Passport Details Update. If your OCI card is lost or damaged and the OCI is already linked to your current passport, the e-OCI (£50) replaces the card; if it is not yet linked, the OCI Passport Details Update (£125) applies.

What Matrix Solutions does
