Indian PCC fee calculator 2026

An Indian Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from the UK has two costs: the government and VFS fee you pay at your appointment, and any service fee if you use a company like ours. This free calculator adds up both in seconds, for one applicant or a whole household. Set the number of applicants and the total updates straight away, with no signup and nothing to download. If you have lived in India in the recent past, it also tells you when police verification may add time.

The government and VFS fee is £61.78 per applicant, and our service fee is £100 per applicant, paid separately. Figures come from our 2026 VFS fee table, and the fee on the day of submission applies. VFS Global and the Indian authorities set these fees, not us, so use this page as a guide and confirm your total before you pay.

How the PCC fee is made up in 2026

The amount you pay at VFS has three parts, and the total is the same for each applicant. You pay it to VFS Global at your appointment, separately from any fee you pay us.

Indian PCC fees per applicant
FeePer applicant
Embassy fee£30
ICW (Indian Community Welfare)£2
VFS service fee£29.78
Government and VFS total£61.78
Matrix Solutions service fee£100
Both together£161.78

Each person has their own application, so a couple pays £123.56 at VFS, and £200 to us if we prepare both files.

Who needs an Indian PCC

A PCC is a certificate from the Indian authorities, and it is often asked for when you apply for something abroad. The common reasons are:

  • Visa applications, especially if you have lived in India or held an Indian passport. Common examples include Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the USA.
  • Permanent residency or migration, where a PCC is requested from each country of significant residence.
  • Employment checks, especially in regulated sectors.
  • Adoption and family applications.

If you are not sure which type you need, check the wording used by the authority or employer asking for it, then tell us the purpose at your free case check. The right type depends on the destination country.

How long a PCC takes

Processing is typically 7 to 20 working days. Simple cases can be quicker. Applicants who have lived in India in the recent past may need local police verification, which can take longer. Some PCC categories have faster routes, and we confirm on WhatsApp whether yours is one of them. Processing times sit with the Indian authorities and VFS, so leave some room before any deadline you are working to.

How the process works

For most cases, the PCC is processed through the Indian mission in the UK via VFS Global, so a trip to India is not part of it. We confirm the route for your circumstances.

  1. Free case check. Tell us why you need the PCC and share your current passport on WhatsApp, and we confirm the correct type and documents.
  2. Your checklist. We send a document list made for your case.
  3. Preparation. We complete the online application, format your photo and signature, and book a VFS appointment at your nearest centre, subject to availability.
  4. Attend VFS. You go with the prepared file, and biometrics may be captured. We stay on WhatsApp in case anything is queried.
  5. Track to delivery. We monitor progress until the PCC is dispatched, and collection or courier delivery is arranged with VFS.

Documents and photo

You generally need identity proof, address proof, your current and previous passports, and your UK visa or share code. The photo is 35 × 45 mm, the same portrait size as an Indian passport, on a plain light background, and two identical copies are usually needed. Our photo size checker covers the shape. We send your personal checklist after a free case check.

Common mistakes

  • Applying for the wrong type of PCC for the destination country.
  • Submitting out-of-date address proof.
  • A photo or signature that does not meet the current specification.
  • Missing self-attested copies of previous passports.

What the calculator leaves out

  • Optional VFS extras on the day, such as photocopying, document printing, a photo or SMS updates.
  • Express file, our optional £50 priority add-on for our preparation. Authority processing times stay the same.

The delivery envelope is already in the VFS fee, so your document comes back to your address at no extra charge.

What Matrix Solutions adds

Our £100 per applicant covers document review, the online application, photo and signature formatting, booking your VFS appointment and WhatsApp support through to delivery. You attend VFS once with a prepared file. See Indian PCC from the UK for the full service. The decision on your PCC sits with the Indian authorities.

Several applicants can be coordinated together, so a family attends with files prepared at the same time. Rework is free if a rejection is due to our error. Where it is not, we advise on next steps, and any government fees are payable again.
